Experience shaped by changing markets

Catherine entered the mortgage and private-lending industry during the 2008–2009 financial crisis. That experience shaped how she approaches mortgage advice today.

She saw how quickly borrowers could run into difficulty when they were given a product without fully understanding its structure, risks, or long-term implications. It reinforced her belief that strong mortgage guidance should go far beyond securing a competitive rate.

A mortgage strategy should help people understand their options, prepare for change, and make decisions that continue to serve them as their lives evolve.

With more than 16 years of industry experience, Catherine has helped over 1,800 individuals navigate purchases, renewals, refinances, investment properties, debt restructuring, and significant life transitions.

Expertise beyond the application

Catherine brings extensive technical knowledge to every client relationship.

She holds a degree in Management with a specialization in Finance from the University of British Columbia, along with Mortgage Professional certification from UBC. She is also an Accredited Mortgage Professional, a Smith Manoeuvre Certified Professional, and a Reverse Mortgage Specialist.

Those qualifications matter, but Catherine’s greatest strength is her ability to make complicated financial information feel clear and manageable.

Every client arrives with a different story. Some are purchasing their first home. Others are preparing for retirement, navigating a separation, restructuring debt, building an investment portfolio, or trying to make a mortgage fit within a larger financial plan.

Catherine begins by listening.

She takes the time to understand what is happening now, what may change next, and what matters most to the person or family in front of her. From there, she builds a practical strategy around the client’s complete financial picture.

She genuinely cares

Care is often discussed in financial services. For Catherine, it is not a slogan.

She genuinely cares about the outcome.

That means asking more questions when something does not quite add up. It means looking beyond the easiest approval to determine whether a product is truly suitable. It means collaborating with accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, real estate professionals, and family members when a coordinated approach may create a stronger result.

It also means being honest when the best answer is not “right now.”

Sometimes the work involves securing financing immediately. Sometimes it involves improving credit, restructuring debt, clarifying a budget, or developing a plan that helps someone become ready six or twelve months later.

Catherine’s goal is not simply to complete a transaction. It is to help clients make informed decisions they can feel confident about long after the paperwork is signed.

Leadership rooted in relationships

Catherine founded Cultivate + Evolve Financial to help Canadians achieve homeownership, build wealth through real estate, and gain greater clarity around their financial decisions.

The company’s name reflects her approach: cultivate meaningful relationships and thoughtful strategies, then continue evolving as clients’ circumstances and goals change.

This latest recognition may carry Catherine’s name, but it also reflects the community surrounding her work. We’re deeply grateful to the clients, referral partners, lenders, professional collaborators, colleagues, friends, and community members who continue to place their trust in Catherine and the Cultivate + Evolve team.

Congratulations to Catherine and to all the women recognized among Canadian Mortgage Professional’s Top 50 Women of Influence for 2026.
