BC disaster assitance
This week has obviously been a very tough one here in British Columbia. First of all want to thank all incredible hard-work done by first responders and everyone who risked disaster and helped out however they could. My heart breaks for the people of Hope, Abbotsford, Merritt and the many other places around the province impacted by the recent events. Being based in The Okanagan and recently purchasing a property on the coast, it’s become even more apparent just how interconnected yet fragile we actually are. Hopefully we can take a few lessons from the current conditions and do our best to help each other out. I’ve included a link here to my website where from there you can find some further resources as to how best to help those in need right now, along with some reforestation initiatives. This summer’s devastating fires in the region only helped to exacerbate the damage from the heavy rains, and it’ll be important for the area to get that forested land back as soon as possible.
