With a passion for education & professional development, advocacy and government relation and a strong passion for educating future and current homeowners what Mortgage Professionals Canada & all the brokers nationally can offer clients’ who seek professional, sound, educated and most importantly OPTION’s when it comes to financial solutions. My goal is to assist in moving the industry forward, collaborating with fellow professionals and sharing my personal knowledge and experience to be an agent of change. I believe I would be a strong & powerful candidate in assisting in paving the way forward for our industry, my passion, drive, dedication & experience – will allow me to advocate on behalf of my fellow industry partners.
My promise to you is to listen, to take action, to collaborate with fellow members & board members, to initiate change, to make our voices heard both provincially and federally. Exciting update! Thank you to all who supported the campaign and I am honoured to announce that I have been selected as the Reginal Director. I am excited to serve a three year term and connecting with my industry peers and making some positive change in our industry.
About Catherine Ellis:
Catherine has been a Licensed Mortgage Professional since 2013. She commenced her career in private lending back in 2010, owning and operating her own private lending business and she became a licensed broker three years later fulfilling a passion for assisting clients with their real estate goals.
Catherine completed a Bachelor of Management, specializing in Finance, in the Spring of 2013 from UBC, jointly obtaining her Sub-Mortgage Broker License in the Province of British Columbia through UBC’s Sauder School of Business.
Catherine has contributed to the sector in many ways throughout her career continuing to find innovative ways to connect with her industry partners, clients, and community. She focuses on remaining at the forefront of the industry, by staying up to date on lender panels, educational sessions, and conferences, and putting a strong focus on personal growth & development.
She has most recently recognized as one of CMP’s Rising Stars and Women of Influence for 2020, CMP’s Women of Influence in 2019 and 2018, 2019 as a CMA Top Young Gun Finalist, awarded in 2018 the WIMI of the Year in BC, and served as a MPC BC Chapter Member in 2020 & 2021. She has been recognized as Top Producer XEVA Verico in 2020 and 2019, she was also recognized by Verico for Presidents Club in 2020, 2019 and Executive Club for 2018.
Catherine’s goal and passion has always to be an agent of change, education, and client experience first, she is passionate, caring, detail oriented and hardworking which has resulted in her business to continue to grow year on year. This year Catherine re-branded her mortgage business as Cultivate + Evolve Financial – focusing on cultivating a plan for her clients for an ever-evolving financial future – focusing on education, transparency, and a solution-based approach to encourage her clients to strengthen their financial literacy and result in a more prosperous future in all areas.
Her vision moving forward is to create a greater sense of community, internal leadership, team building and education – also knowledge and marketing within our local communities for greater awareness of what brokers do, how we can help and the benefits of working with an independent professional. Her hopes are that we can all work together, lift each other up, better our systems, challenge ourselves and our peers and continue to educate one another to be better as an industry.
She is a proud member and supporter of WIMI, MPC, MBABC and 100 Brokers Who Care. She is a volunteer with Junior Achievement BC – providing financial literacy within the provincial school system to kids aged 7-18 years of age. She and her puppy Tawny are BARK Volunteer – providing pet therapy to students within the community focused at the UBC Okanagan Campus. She provides Financial Literacy Initiatives in Seniors Centers’ and within the community to youth and first-time homeowners.
